Méntrida Wine

The Méntrida denomination of origin is in the north of the province of Toledo, with a surface of 14,000 hectares. Its climate is an extremely continental one, with harsh winters and very hot summers, with an irregular yearly rainfall that seldom exceeds 400 mm.

Red wines from Méntrida, such as Red and Double Red, have high alcohol content, which can go from 14° to 18 º, are very rich in tannins and colouring matter. These wines are very fruity and delicious. Rosé wines have a fruity flavour and a pleasant colour, are excellent on the palate, and have an equally high alcohol content.

The main variety cultivated in Méntrida is the red strain Grenache, which occupies over 80% of the vineyards. The remainder is devoted to other red varieties such as Cencibel and Madrid Red.
